Where to buy Dewalt Heavy-Duty Aluminum LED Flashlights

Dewalt Heavy-Duty Aluminum LED Flashlights

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are the DEWALT LED flashlights more expensive than other LED flashlights?

The DEWALT brand is engineered to perform better, last longer and as a result costs more. Why would flashlights not fit that pattern?

The DEWALT tag line is GUARANTEED TOUGH. A machined aluminum barrel, best in class LED and elimination of potential weaknesses like a ‘twist to focus’ feature deliver on the GUARANTEED TOUGH promise.

The marketplace did not need another plastic or ‘cheap’ flashlight.

The range of DEWALT HD Aluminum LED Flashlights is the first engineered specifically with the requirements of the job site in mind. The value of the DEWALT line arises not just from the innovative components, technology and brightness, but from the reliability. The materials and design insure that even after being subjected to the rigors of jobsite abuse the light will work each and every time the switch is depressed. An economy flashlight only seems like a bargain until the first time the switch is selected and no light follows!

If the DEWALT Flashlight package shows twice the lumens as a competitor, does that mean it is twice as bright?

LUMENS is a measurement of light output generated in all directions. Although a higher LUMENS output number is a good indicator of brightness, it is only one standard used to measure light. It is important to read manufacturer claims carefully. Savvy shoppers will look for confirmation that complicated tests like LUMENS measurements have been conducted by independent, third party, laboratories. In 2009 the first uniform standards governing the packaging claims of flashlight manufacturers will be implemented. Until then, it is important when comparing flashlight brightness to examine the methods of testing and stated claims very carefully. All DEWALT flashlights are tested by an independent laboratory for the most precise measurement available.

Do the lights include Replacement Bulbs?

No, since DEWALT flashlights use only LED bulbs, replacing the bulb should not be necessary. LED bulbs have a greater resistance to shock or vibration damage and do not have a filament that will burn out. LED bulbs have a runtime of over 100,000 hours.

What is the Return Policy?

You can view our electronics return policy on our www.radians.com website.

Do the lights have a lifetime warranty?

DEWALT LED aluminum flashlights have a 3 Year Limited Warranty. We will repair, without charge, any defect due to faulty materials or workmanship for three years from the date of purchase. We guarantee all of our flashlight products for defects in material or workmanship. In addition to the 3 year warranty, DEWALT flashlights are covered by our 90-day money back guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with the performance of your DEWALT flashlight for any reason, you can return it to us (shipping charges prepaid) within 90 days from the date of purchase with a receipt for a full refund – no questions asked.

Can we imprint company logos on the lights?

No, at this time, DEWALT flashlights cannot be co-branded.

What’s the difference between Lumens and Candlepower?

Both lumens and candlepower are used to measure light intensity. Put simply, lumens is a unit describing the TOTAL output of light from a light source. It has nothing to do with the reflector/lens assembly of the device. On the other hand, candlepower is a measurement of the brightest spot in the output beam. The reflector/lens mechanism definitely plays a part here by focusing the light.

Lumen Example: A dinner candle provides about 12 lumens. In comparison, the DEWALT 3C flashlight provides 141 lumens.

Are batteries included?

DEWALT flashlights in retail packaging include standard alkaline batteries. Product packaged for Industrial customers will not include batteries.

Are the Dewalt flashlights rechargeable?

No, DEWALT flashlights are not rechargeable.

Are the Dewalt flashlights safety rated?

No, the DEWALT LED Aluminum flashlights are not rated for use in hazardous (high risk of fire or explosion) environments.

Does the DEWALT offer an adjustable spot to flood feature?

No. Some flashlight manufacturers offer a light which requires the user to twist the head to adjust the beam from spot to flood or back. DEWALT flashlights are designed to provide a simultaneous flood and bright spot beam. The benefits of the DEWALT solution are numerous. Many jobsite users will have a tool or a ladder in one hand and a flashlight in the other. Easy, one handed operation is a great convenience. The solid or fixed construction of the DEWALT light means it has no joint or threads which may be failure points in a drop or impact. The intense light at the center of the DEWALT beam is perfectly complimented by a wide flood area. In field tests, the combination flood and spot beam met both user requirements.

Are DEWALT flashlights Waterproof?

No, however, they are water resistant. They are designed with rubber o-rings which are used as a gasket to seal the flashlight case against dust and moisture. DEWALT flashlights are not built to be submerged in liquids but can be used on rainy days and will not likely fail if dropped in a puddle for a short period of time. If the flashlight does get wet, the user should take out the batteries and let them dry before continuing use of the flashlight.
